Guest House. With the blessing of His Eminence Nicolae, we proceeded to increase the capacity of the monastery’s guesthouse by purchasing bunk beds. This way, we can accommodate 30 people simultaneously. The friends of the monastery mobilized exemplarily and were able to raise a considerable amount (over $ 6,500) in a very short time, so that by the winter holidays the beds were already assembled, and the new mattresses and pillows wrapped in new linens.
We thank the donors: Adrian and Dana Pala, Emil and Dana Miclăuș, Constantin and Geta Alexandru, Petrică and Florica Radu, Fr. The Kursk-Root Icon of the Mother of God. On the last day of the year, together with a group of mostly young pilgrims, we had the blessing to pray an akathist in front of the Kursk Icon, located at the Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia (ROCOR) in Manhattan. This was made possible by the goodwill of His Grace Nikolai of Manhattan, who, impressed by the piety and beauty of our young people’s singing, allowed us to spend three hours in prayer before the icon and gave us a tour of the cathedral. His Grace Nikolai was also open to repeating such events and organizing meetings between young Romanian Orthodox and young Russian Orthodox, either in New York or at the Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, NY.
Glory be to God for all things!
Icons. With the blessing of His Eminence Nicolae, printed icons are mounted to wood in our monastery. They can be found on the monastery’s website, at: https://www.sfdumitru.org/index.php/ro/pangar/icoane. We can also make custom icons.
Pure beeswax candles. Pure beeswax candles are also made in our monastery to adorn the prayer of every Christian. A pure wax candle burning during private or church prayer is a sacrifice pleasing to God.
