Rejoice, Most Immaculate
Who yesterday lamented
Behold, your Son in glory
Has arisen from the tomb!
All nature keeps festival
For Christ’s Resurrection,
All are adorned today
With most luminous vesture!
Angels and humans
Sing today in one voice
While Adam and the thief
Rejoice today in Paradise.
Today in the heavenly Eden
There is no longer any guard,
The door is always open
For the Christian people.
The Cross is no longer seen
As an instrument of torture;
It is now “the Banner of Glory”
– The sign of victory –!
The drink which was bitter
Was sweetened by Christ
And “the kingdom of death”
Was crushed for all eternity!
You were beforehand:
“The Mother of the Holy Passion”
Today you are: “Mother of Glory”
And “of the Holy Resurrection”!
